and Prayer Requests

This is our first report for 2007. How fitting it is that we have a Prayer Request to start the year off. Imagine what the year would be like if our primary focus was prayer...
Life is a very interesting school master. We never know what lies ahead and the Lord seems to use life to teach us about ourselves and about Him. During my 50 years on this planet I have found that when life seems hardest that's when my true strengths, feelings, thoughts, perceptions, weaknesses and frustrations seem to surface. I have also found that when I think I have accomplished so much and if I become prideful, as did the King in Daniel 4:29-30, God has way of showing me that He has blessed me and that it's only by His grace that I'm the benefactor of His multiple and countless blessings. Yes, hard times can be a gift from God to help us all know His love, kindness, mercy, compassion, strength and grace towards us whom He loves!
During a trial of our faith - as James points out in James 1:2-12, God has the opportunity to assist us in growing our faith and we have the opportunity to look to Him and not to ourselves or to our circumstances. It's in the hard times that we find out what we are really made of and where our strengths and weakness lie. Let's not forget, we are only as strong as our weakest link. God wants to strengthen the weak link in us and it could be that the very trial you and I are going through is exactly what it will take to strengthen that weak link. Ultimately, the Lord wants us to trust and rely solely on Him and not in the talents and gifts or accomplishments He has given to us. Our talents and gifts are only tools in His hands to assist us in accomplishing His will in our lives.
I don't know what this new year has in store for you or for me, but this I do know, we are not alone and God is with us and God will see us all through no matter how difficult the trial or suffering may be. Do what King Nebuchadnezzar did look up and focus on Yeshua, He will see us through!
The Lord helped the King to understand that without God he would be nothing, nothing at all. He learned that without God he was no better than the ox in the field...It is God that gives and it is God that takes away. God raises up and God brings down. God is everything to everyone - the very breath we breath comes from Him. So, for 2007 let's be the people God made us to be and let's depend on Him for it all.
My parting shot...notice in the scripture below it says, "at the end of that time." End of what time? The end of King Nebuchadnezzar's lesson. The end of his pride, the end of himself. Blessed is the man or women who finds the end of themselves, that's where the power of God resides, that's where and when we find God and He is able to really help us because our will's are surrendered to Him completely. Selah - pause, take the time and think or ponder on it...
Daniel 4:34; At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever.
God Bless you this New Year 2007!

Prayer Requests
Jim Parra Bro Stef It's been 4 months since my sinus
surgery and my wife and I were hoping for a good result. At first it
looked as though the severe headaches, dizziness, blurred vision and
sinus swelling was going away. Now it's back with a vengeance. I've been
battling fatigue and depression as well. Please pray. |
