Special Report: Why We Study Prophecy
Please read a message from Hal Lindsey I
received today. I thought it was really
appropriate for what is happening around us
today. Read His Email -

Last night I was asked to teach a men's Bible
study on Matthew 24. We had a lively discussion
and a lot of fun. Towards the end of the study,
as people were getting ready to leave, a comment
was made to me that stunned me. I must say, some
church leaders never cease to amaze me at times.
I've been around the block a few times over the
last 36 years and these leaders still cause me
to shack my head in utter amazement.
Here's what was said to me, "the reason we don't teach on the rapture and the end times in Sunday service as a habit is because it causes division..." Okay, please somebody pick me up off the floor. If the Bible is 60% prophecy and 40% everything else, don't you think we should study prophecy and allow the Holy Spirit to use that as a tool to light a fire under our hind quarters to get us up and moving and doing His work? Aren't we called to be ready? Aren't we called to be alert? Aren't we called to be aware? Have we become so politically correct that we are afraid of offending people with the truth of God's Word? Here's my response to this way of thinking...
Why was the Lord so upset with His people in
Matthew 23? The Lord knew that if the people
would have studied the Old Testament for
themselves and not listened to everyone else,
they would have not missed His coming.
Yeshua was heartbroken that the very people He
came to didn't know who He was. Prophecy,
knowing what's on the horizon, the examination
of the Rapture of the Church and how this ties
into the Jewish wedding ceremony, it's all
profitable for study and should not be withheld
from God's people! By the way, you should study
how the Jews in the Lord's day got married. It's
a fascinating study and in my humble opinion, it
makes a solid case for the rapture or catching
away of the Church.
Here's a brief synopsis on it...The
groom and the bride are betrothed for a year or
so and then at the appointed time, the Father
tells his son, the groom, to go get the His
Bride. The groom's precession is huge and the
trumpets are blown. Everyone knows the groom is
coming! The Bride is dressed in the finest of
pure white linen. The Groom takes His bride back
to His Fathers house where they are joined in
marriage and for seven days there is a feast.
When the last trumpet is
blown the Lord (groom) will come on the
Shekinah Glory (clouds) and call us to join Him.
We will meet Him in the clouds of glory and He
(the groom) will take us to the
Father's house where we will be joined to Him
and for seven years we enjoy His presence and
have a feast. After the wedding feast is over we
return with Him to stop the madness on planet
earth.
Read Ephesians 5:24-27 ( Christ and The Church)
1Thessalonians 4:16-18
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
1Corinthians 15:50-58
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-- 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." 5 "O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?" 56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Revelation 19:14 -
14
And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen,
white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
Zechariah 14:5
5 Then you (Jews) shall flee through My mountain
valley, For the mountain valley shall reach to
Azal. Yes, you shall flee As you fled from the
earthquake In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
Thus the Lord my God will come, And all
the saints (All who belong to Yeshua)
with You.
Why Our Lord was so
upset in Matthew...
Matthew 23:37-39:
37 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!38 See! Your house is left to you desolate;39 for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!' "
By studying Prophecy you'd know that the Lord
was referring to what Zechariah prophesied. It
has tremendous meaning!
Zechariah 12:10:
"And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. Matthew 23:39 will be fulfilled at this time!
The Lord Himself
said that His teachings were an offense to many.
As Pastors, Teachers and Leaders in the Church
we are held accountable for teaching the
"WHOLE" Counsel of God.
If we are always preoccupied with who won't like
what we talk about in scripture, we should
all fold up our tents and go home - game
over.
We need to desire the meat of the word it's good for us. Do we want to divide as a matter of course? No! However, occasionally people will not agree with us and we must speak the truth that is God breathed in the scriptures! We must from our pulpits teach the entire Bible, not just topical sections that we are comfortable with! Hebrews 5:13-14 & 1Corinthians 3
I'm challenging all Pastors in America to
open the Bible in your pulpits and use the Bible
as your outline. Stop being the arbitrator
over what the people hear or don't hear.
Teach the word, precept upon precept, line upon
line and the Bible will lead you to discus all
necessary topics that everyone will need in
their lives. The Bible is written in such a way
as to challenge us with all of life's issues.
Come on Pastors start at Genesis and work it
through to Revelation! Don't be afraid of
debate, good healthy debate and discussion is a
good thing.

Here "Many nations shall come and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths." For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. - Mic 4:2 "If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy." Psalm 137:5,6
