The Middle East is a tender box that can ignite at any time.
This past week, very quietly, the U.S. and Israel were applying
pressure to Syria in the form of ultimatums by the U.S. and
Israel released "The 1973 War Papers."
These papers detail the behind the scenes military strategies
that were underway during the '73 Yom Kippur War. You may recall
Israel was attacked by her Arab enemies on the Holiest of all days to
Jews. She was outnumbered, but prevailed and won the war.
The papers Israel released this week describe the dialog between
PM Golda Meir, and the iconic defense minister Moshe Dayan. General
Dayan wanted to attack Damascus at any cost, however, the PM
said no to the attack. The reason Israel released the papers and made
sure the President of Syria saw them was to make sure he
understood that in 1973 Damascus was not attacked, but today
that will not be the case. The Middle East region is to
dangerous a place and there are too many threats that Israel
cannot ignore at this point in time! Israel is hoping that Syria
get's the message loud and clear and does not allow Iran to take
control of Lebanon through Iran's proxy armies like Hezbollah
and Hamas. This time around Israel's current PM Netanyahu will
not spare Damascus.
Here's why this is so fascinating. In
Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49 God describes the destruction of
Damascus which has not happened in history to date. Damascus is
one of the, if not the oldest standing city in the world and it
looks like God has her in His sights. Should Iran and Syria over
play their hand God just might pull the trigger and Isaiah 17
and Jeremiah 49 could come to pass soon.
Does God have Damascus on His hit list? You be the

10:8-11 is your path to Him if you're unsure what to do.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world
gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.
Romans 10:8-11: "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and
in your heart,"
that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:
That if you confess
with your mouth, "Jesus is LORD,"
in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified,
and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
As the Scripture says, "Anyone who
trusts in Him will never be put to shame." (NIV)
