Israel Wants EU More Involved In Talks

Last month, Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom told the European Union's Foreign Policy chief that Europe could be frozen out of the Middle East peace process, because of its failure to consider Israel's security needs. However, now Israel has taken a major step forward. The Jewish nation has agreed to institutionalize a role for the EU in region peace process and non-proliferation issues.

Israel has never before agreed to hold political dialogs with the EU on some key issues. Those issues include: the peace process, terrorism, small-arms non-proliferation, and human rights. The EU realizes that Israel has taken a big step by accepting the principal of an institutionalized role for the EU on political issues. But, the EU also realizes that there must be some advantage in this for Israel. Potential benefits include: economic issues, science, transportation, and the environment.

Prophetic Insights: This is a HUGE change in Israel's policy. This however, is exactly what the Bible has predicted. The U.S. will eventually take a back seat to the EU. The Antichrist will come out of the EU, hence, this sets up the framework for the Antichrist to come forward and be the hero for the world by bringing in the peace everybody is looking for. Human Chips More Than Skin Deep

There's not a lot of middle ground on the subject of implanting electronic identification chips in humans.

Advocates of technologies like radio frequency identification tags say their potentially life-saving benefits far outweigh any Orwellian concerns about privacy. RFID tags sewn into clothing or even embedded under people's skin could curb identity theft, help identify disaster victims and improve medical care, they say.

Critics, however, say such technologies would make it easier for government agencies to track a person's every movement and allow widespread invasion of privacy. Abuse could take countless other forms, including corporations surreptitiously identifying shoppers for relentless sales pitches. Critics also speculate about a day when people's possessions will be tagged--allowing nosy subway riders with the right technology to examine the contents of nearby purses and backpacks.

Islamic Trust To Remove Evidence Of Jewish Temples

The Islamic Trust, which acts as the caretaker of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, have plans to remove several thousand tons of ancient artifacts from the location where the previous 2 Jewish Temples stood some 2000 years ago.

Leaders of the Committee to Protect the Destruction of the Temple Mount Antiquities say that it is a well-known fact that it is the goal of the Muslims to erase all evidence of a Jewish presence on the Temple Mount. The Temple Mount is Judaism's most sacred site in the World.

The Islamic movement leader, Sheikh Rayed Salaah said that use of the Temple Mount is exclusively a Muslim, Arab, and Palestinian right. He also says that there never was a first or second Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount.

Archeologist Dr. Elat Mozar says that the Muslim objective is to turn the entire Temple Mount compound into a large mosque with no Jewish or Christian presence there.

Iran 'ecstatic' with Chinese missile navigation system

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps last week demonstrated the integration of a system that turns the Shihab-3 intermediate-range ballistic missile from a flying metal tube into a deadly weapon against Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United States. The Shihab-3's problem has not been its range, but its accuracy. But the missile, based on the North Korean No Dong, was not accurate. The Iranians appeared to have changed all that.

Israel Asks Russia To Stop Iran's Nuclear Program

In their most recent meeting, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Russian President Vladimir Putin smiled for the cameras and paid lip service to revitalizing the all-but abandoned "road-map to peace". However, the real business of the day focused on Iran's imminent development of nuclear weapons, as it has for the last five years.

Israeli diplomats and security officials say that the road map for blocking Iranian nuclear capabilities leads through Moscow, Russia. These officials also say that Israel's #1 foreign policy issue with Russia is Iran. The Islamic Republic is creeping ever closer to the development of a nuclear warhead.

Iran has warned Israel that they would destroy the Israel nuclear reactor in Dimona if Israel were to attack Iran's nuclear facilities. Israel is aware that Iran has a missile that could reach the plant in Dimona.

Like a bad sequel to a rotten horror movie, the debate over global taxation once again is rearing its ugly head — courtesy of the United Nations. And, despite lacking the requisite hockey mask and chain saw, the seemingly countless proposals for the imposition of global taxes are truly terrifying.

In July, Inter Presse news service reported that a top U.N. official was preparing a new study that will outline numerous global tax proposals to be considered by the General Assembly at its September meeting. The proposals will likely include everything from global taxes on e-mails and Internet use to a global gas tax and levies on airline travel. If adopted, American taxpayers could wind up paying hundreds of billions of dollars each year to the United Nations.

Jewish Reawakening in Hungary

Full synagogues, renewed youth movements, and increased Aliyah - these are some of the signs of a reawakening in the 120,000-strong Hungarian Jewish community.

A group of 22 Hungarian Jews met with a leading IDF General in Tzfat yesterday - after their previous meeting with him led them to begin steps towards making Aliyah to Israel.

Egypt Prepares For War With Israel

As Israel considers involving Egyptian troops in the aftermath of a withdraw from the Gaza Strip, a United States Congressman, Representative Tom Lantos, from California, warns of what he calls Egypt's true intentions. Egypt, according to Representative Lantos, is building up its military in preparation for a future war with Israel.

Lantos, the ranking Democrat on the House International Relations Committee, says that Egypt has engaged in a military build-up despite a decrease in threats from its neighbors. Also, the Congressman says, Egyptian military exercises are geared toward an Israeli enemy that doesn't obviously exist.

According to a report, Israeli military sources have revealed that Egyptian military war-games constantly portray the Israeli Defense Force as the enemy. Several times since Israel's founding in 1948, Egypt, together with other Arab nations has launched war against Israel.

Prophetic Insights: To any student of Biblical Prophecy, this news should not be surprising. The Bible (See Daniel 11:40-44) tells us that all Arab nations will come against Israel in the last Days. This news release only substantiates that we are living in the Last Days or End Times!

Egypt And Israel Reach Agreement Regarding Palestinians

Egyptian officials have come to an agreement with the Hamas regarding the nature of the organizations activities following Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, according to reports.

It was also reported that Egypt hopes to reach similar agreements with all other Palestinian factions in the area, including the Fatah.

According to the report, Egypt and Israel reached an agreement specifying the types of forces Egypt will use to patrol the border between Egypt and Rafah.

An Egyptian military delegation, visiting Israel, agreed with Israeli security officials that these forces would be border policemen rather than army. In return, Egypt is demanding a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the lifting of all blockades and opening the area to all transportation, by sea and air, and an Israeli promise that it will not attempt to reoccupy the Gaza Strip. A fourth stipulation is the reopening of passage between Gaza and the West Bank.

The locusts this week engulfed the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott.

Agriculture Ministry official Mohamed Abdallahi Ould Babah said Mauritania's initial estimate that 800,000 hectares, two million acres, might need treating with pesticides had to be revised upwards because the infestation was so severe.

"The locust invasion could be catastrophic for the country, coinciding with the beginning of the sowing season, the need to feed our livestock and our complete lack of resources," he said.

Agricultural experts have warned that this plague of locusts currently sweeping through West Africa could threaten up to a million people with famine.

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization says the plague could surpass that of 1987, which caused $300m damage to food production.

Mauritania says a million hectares of its arable land, 2.47 million acres, have been affected.

A locust can eat its own body weight - 2g - in 24 hours and a ton of locusts - a tiny part of the average swarm - can eat as much food in a day as 2,500 people.

The swarms turned green trees to brown skeletons in a matter of hours and even ate the grass from the pitch of the main football stadium.

Residents lit fires and rattled tin boxes filled with stones to try to chase away the insects.

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization has warned that as a result of the heavy rains, locusts are breeding at alarming levels in southern Mauritania and Senegal.

Further south, The Gambia - where more than 70% of the population is dependent on farming for its survival - has declared a national emergency.

In Mali, the locusts overran the northern Gao region.

There are fears that they could spread as far as the western Sudanese region of Darfur, which has already been devastated by a humanitarian crisis.

It was in western Sudan that the last major plague started 16 years ago, affecting 28 countries and spreading as far as India.

Israel's Internal Security Minister Hanegbi, who has been warning that dangerous Jewish extremist are planning to blow up the Temple Mount, had a leisurely chat recently outside of his home with some of the leaders that Hanegbi claims are fomenting violence, men he has been investigating for possibly plotting attacks on the Temple Mount.

The Internal Security Minister went out to greet the so-called Jewish extremists, who were holding a protest outside of his house.

Some Jewish settlement leaders have accused Minister Hanegbi and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon of contriving reports of settler violence and extremism to discredit the settlement movement and foment domestic and international opposition to the settlers ahead of Prime Minister Sharon's Gaza withdrawal plan which is set for 2005.

This is why there will never be peace in the Middle East, at least not until Messiah returns!

A contrarian Muslim professor claims the Quran actually teaches Israel belongs to the Jews.

Khaleel Mohammed, assistant professor of religious studies at San Diego State University, said in an interview with Frontpage Magazine the person most mentioned in Islam's holy book is Moses, the great Old Testament prophet and leader of the Israelites.
