The problem with this thinking is the Pope put's himself and the Catholic church above scripture and above God Himself. Nowhere in the Bible does Christ or the Apostles ever tell us that we have to be part of a certain group of believers.
The Bible from cover to cover tells us that if we're in Christ we are a new creation and we belong to the family of God period. The Christians of the first century met in homes, under ground, in catacombs, just about anywhere they could to assemble and practice their faith in Christ.
I'm personally really disappointed in this Popes assertion that because I am not a Catholic, because I am a Jewish believer in Christ, I'm some how flawed in my faith and in my worship to God. Sadly, the Pope is dialing back the Catholic Church to era of the Spanish Inquisition period. Here's what I mean by that. During the Inquisition if Jews were forced by the promise of death, usually beheading, that if they didn't convert to Catholicism they would be killed, them and their families. Millions of Jews were either slaughtered of sent out to sea with no food and water to die, thanks to Christian love of the Catholic church and it's evil leadership. Okay, so the Pope isn't going to demand conversion or you die, but he is going to draw a distinction between you and me and all Catholics.
Beware of anyone who says they or their organization is the only real or true place for you to be. This mentality is very dangerous and has in the past led to death and destruction. Just look back in history at things like the Spanish Inquisition that I have already cited and then look back at the Holocaust. Hitler led an entire country to believe that they were the only true race that deserved to live and prosper. Only God has all the answers and He accepts everyone right were they're at. God through Christ is the only true path to salvation - not a church, not a building and most definitely not any man or religion!
As disturbing as this may
be, those of us who understand End-time Prophecy should not be shocked
by this. This is part and parcel of the things that must happen before
the Lord can return.
I wonder if the Antichrist will use this distinction against all who are not Catholics during the Tribulation period? Are we seeing another sign that the stage is being set for the coming rule of the Antichrist?
I'll conclude with this simple and very powerful quote from our Lord - Jesus Christ:
John 3:14-18
Because, in truth, because they have misled my people, saying, "Peace,"
when there is no peace; and because, when the people build a wall, these
prophets smear whitewash on it. Say to those who smear whitewash on it
that it shall fall.

thing you have to say about this Pope, he's honest. At least he doesn't
hide behind political correctness, he just says it the way he sees it.
